ABOUT Techfest 2016,IIT Bombay

Born in 1998 with the motto of promoting technology, scientific thinking and innovation, Techfest has surpassed 19 golden years of creating an unmatched aura of a science and technology spectacle year after year at the IIT Bombay campus at Powai, Mumbai. It is today well established as Asia's Largest Science and Technology festival with more than 165,000 people in attendance and a reach of over 2500 colleges across India and over 500 overseas.

In its endeavour to provide an international platform for the youth to showcase their talents and skills in fierce competitions, displaying cutting edge technology and research from all over the globe, having world renowned personalities motivate the youth and promoting solutions to alleviate the common man of his banal yet significant problems, Techfest strives for one and all to get inspired and look up to.

ORGANIZATIONAL FRAMEWORK

Techfest is entirely managed by students of IIT Bombay fest with a three-tier team structure. The core committee consists of 23 members comprising of 1 Overall Coordinator at the helm and 22 Managers. Techfest is a true believer in the concept of a team of equals. Every brickbat is shared equally by the team as is in every bouquet. Although every aspect of Techfest is no closer to one manager than the other but for smooth functioning, certain portfolios are allocated to every manager.

The portfolios can be broadly categorised into two sections - administration and events. The administrative portfolios primarily include tasks like accounts, infrastructure, media and marketing, hospitality, publicity, web and creatives. The events portfolios include responsibility for each of the numerous happenings and initiatives taken by Techfest each year. A team of over 800 Coordinators and Organisers along with their respective managers work in sync to execute and implement the splendid spectacle called Techfest.

• MESH FLARE



IIT Bombay Techfest 2016 Competetion- MESH FLARE

• With limited fuel, the crew chooses Mann's planet over Edmunds' as the next stop, since Mann is still transmitting. Once there, Mann assures the crew that the frozen planet is habitable despite its ammonia-laden atmosphere. Then, while out together surveying the planet, Mann attempts to kill Cooper, revealing that he falsified the data in hopes of being rescued. He steals Cooper's ranger and heads for Endurance. Amelia rescues Cooper and they race to Endurance in a second lander, where Mann is attempting a dangerous manual docking operation. Mann ignores Cooper's warnings and is killed in the attempt, severely damaging the Endurance in the process. Now there is a mesh of space debris all around Cooper and he has to reach the Endurance and stabilize. You have to help Cooper to solve this maze and find the shortest way through the debris. 

• GALACTIC TROOPER

• The endurance carries 5,000 frozen embryos for the "Plan B" backup plan, which is to colonize a habitable planet to ensure humanity's survival. To help Cooper in this mission you have to make a bot that will help him in carrying the embryos from one place to another and also perform dangerous manual docking operations.

• In a turmoil situation CASE warns Cooper that Endurance is slipping toward Gargantua's pull. Cooper makes a quick decision to use Gargantua as a gravitational slingshot to propel the ship toward Edmunds' planet. To shed weight, Cooper and TARS jettison themselves toward the black hole, so that Amelia and CASE can complete the journey. Slipping past the event horizon, Cooper and TARS find themselves inside a tesseract. Cooper now has all the quantum data that Murphy needs to solve the gravitational equation and save the planet. Will you be able to decode all the data that can save the humanity?
